The mission of the Helping Hands Food Bank is to improve the quality
of life for those individuals and families in need who may not be able
to provide adequate food and necessities for themselves.
We help people achieve self-sufficiency by providing temporary food to
individuals or families regardless of race, age, disability, gender, immigration
status, national origin, sexual orientation or religious belief.
Last year 1,295,082 pounds of donated and purchased food was distributed
to 21,009 local families consisting of 80,241 individuals. Donated money
goes to local families in need towards purchasing food and basic operational costs such as utilities,
building maintenance, vehicle repairs, insurance, and fuel.
As a nonprofit organization, we network with local food providers and
community agencies in order to provide the best services possible.
